This week's award winners are...

Well done to this weeks Head-Teacher and Good to be Green award winners, super effort. Well done to the 4 children who have received their bronze award for reaching 100 star points! Well done to T and W who have been very busy at their after-school clubs (football and Scouts). Well done you two, outstanding effort!

Walk to the North Pole

Broadbent Fold worked together to get 3961 points and successfully travel to the North Pole. Pupils and staff were tasked to try to complete 5 minutes of active travel every day where possible and every day they managed got a point for school. All children who managed to get at least 4 points were given a key ring as a prize. We had so many children complete their active travel every day that we had to raffle the top 3 prizes. Well done to everyone that took part!

Enjoying and decoding

This week, we have fully immersed ourselves into our class text 'How to Grow a Dinosaur.' The children have loved doing lots of predicting before revealing what happens next in the story. Well done Year 1!

Palaeontologists

This morning, year 1 arrived at school to find footprints, fossils and eggs in the classroom! The children quickly became Archaeologists and used their skills in pairs to carefully crack open the eggs. The children found different dinosaurs in them! When the children learned that the footprints must have come from a dinosaur, they became Palaeontologists and used different tools delicately to find fossils and dinosaurs. The children could identify and name some of the dinosaurs / fossils.

What happened to the Dinosaur?

Happy New Year, Year 1! We cannot wait to see you all back at school tomorrow (Monday 6th January 2025)

Our new topic for this half term is called 'What happened to the dinosaurs?' This is a history based topic where we learn about Mary Anning, do an archaeological dig and find out about lots of different dinosaurs.
