History Quiz Winners

A massive congratulations to the winners of the History Quiz Competition. It was quite tense in the classroom during quiz time but the children battled through and became class champions. Fantastic effort to everyone involved.

Eureka! Trip

Year 1 had the best day at Eureka! We got to try out lots of different jobs such as working in Halifax Bank, the post office, Marks and Spencers, a kitchen and a garage. We learnt all about the gross things our body can do in a Science show and learnt all about the human body. Finally we got to create some of our own music and had a great time dancing to it.

50th Birthday Logo Competition!

With almost 90 entrants into our 50th Birthday logo competition, it was always going to be difficult to choose a winner!  The designs were amazing!   Last week our Pupil Leadership team selected the winner and runners up and Mrs Parker announced them in today's assembly!  Well done to Ruby for the winning logo which will now appear on all communication about our 50th Birthday celebrations in June.  Well done also to our fabulous runner up entries.  We have some very talented artists at Broadbent Fold!  Mrs Blomeley

Digging up the vegetable beds!

In gardening club today we dug up the overgrown raised beds. We found a giant spring onion, some small onions and some very odd shaped carrots! While we were digging we found lots of worms, a red beetle chrysalis and a very friendly snail! We are going to relocate the vegetable plot and hopefully grow some more fruit, vegetables and herbs this year. The children all worked extremely hard. Well done everyone!

Can you guess the planet?

During our SATs morning breakfast we found a shape that looked like a planet. Can you guess it? Yes - it is Saturn in our rice crispies! Made all year 6 laugh.

King Charles III Coronation

Year 1 had lots of fun celebrating King Charles III's coronation on Friday. We had fish and chips in the classroom, came wearing red, white and blue, had our faces painted, designed crowns and designed place mats to eat off. We even had a visit from King Charles and Camilla themselves.

African necklaces

As part of our topic 'Hot or Cold?', we have been looking at Kenya. We learnt about the clothing that people wear here including the African tribes and made necklaces in this style using lots of patterns.

World Daily Mile Day

We loved taking part in World Daily Mile day last week. Some of us said we were very tired after taking part and some of us carried on running at break time too! Well done everyone for not stopping!
