Trip to Eureka

Today, Year 1 visited Eureka Childrens museum in Halifax. The children had a jam packed day exploring Space, Sound, All about Me, Living and Working together and they also watched a Gross Lab show all about blood, snot, wee, poo and burps - EW! The children explored Science, Music, PHSE, PE and Maths through play activities. What a funfilled day we had! Thank you for our parent helpers who supported our visit!

Careers week

Today, the police came to talk to our children about future careers in the police force. Year 1 got to look and even have a go of some of the equipment they use in their job. Thank you GMP!

Reading Ambassadors Display

Tameside Libraries set our Reading Ambassadors a task to create a genre display of books to persuade children to read a certain text type. They chose a fantasy theme which is books about magic, legendary creatures and faraway lands. The children put the display together themselves in the KS2 library and I think this will definitely encourage children to read these books.

Well done Ambassadors!

Mad Science Visit

Broadbent Fold were lucky to have a visit today from Mad Science today to deliver us an interactive assembly on 'What you should know about H2O' where we learnt all about solids, liquids and gases and how water is the only thing that can change between all three. We also learnt how water gets from the sea to our tap through the water cycle. We had some fantastic volunteers who showed us how water is checked to make sure it is clean enough to drink and the role that engineers and scientists play in this.
