Fire service visit

Today, real life Superhero's came to visit us! They showed us their fire engine and explained what they use different equipment for. We also watched a clip about keeping safe around fire and what to do if our or someones clothing caught fire. Remember to: STOP, DROP and Roll! Have you checked your smoke alarms work?

Reading Ambassador meeting with Tameside Library

Today our Reading Ambassadors had their first meeting with Lisa from Tameside Library. First they shared all of the posters that were entered into the competition- thank you to members of Year 5 and Year 2 for your poster entries. Please see their posters attached. Then they had a book quiz all about the library and different children's fiction and authors. Then we were set our next reading mission- details will be shared very soon...

Fire fighters visited Broadbent Fold

Today, Year 1 and Year 2 had superhero visitors - fire fighters come and explain their jobs.

We learnt that 5 firefighters are in one fire engine and are needed to put out fires. Fire fighters go to fires to put them out but they also go to car accidents to rescue people. Such an important job - being a fire fighter!

Odd Socks Day

We celebrate our differences today with Odd Socks Day 2024 - part of our Anti-bullying themes this week.

Polish day!

Today we have celebrated Polish day. We have listened to traditional Polish music and tried some Polish foods. We have explored which continent Poland is in, what Poland's capital city is and identified the Polish flag. Thank you to Ms Laitl for getting us the food to try!

Anti-Bullying Week

Anti-Bullying Week 2024 will take place from Monday 11th - Friday 15th November, with the theme: Choose Respect. Odd Socks Day is taking place on Tuesday 12th November, with adults and children being encouraged to wear odd socks to celebrate what makes us all unique.
