Book Donation Ryder & Dutton

Our Reading Ambassadors and Librarians met Ryder & Dutton today - where they presented school with new books! These books are gothic novels and a selection we needed to inspire boys to read. Thank you so much for this contribution, our pupils will love them.

Sports Leaders training

The Year 6 sports leaders have worked hard on their play leader training with Geoff from Tameside Sport. They created some game ideas, learnt how to include everyone and adapt activities if pupils are finding them too easy or difficult. Year 1 and Year 2 cannot wait to have you helping them at lunchtime next week!

Guided reading carousel

The children are steadily settling into our guided reading carousel which includes, practising our cursive letter formation, a phonics activity linked to this weeks sounds taught in daily phonics, phonics apps on the ipads, a comprehension activity, free reading and a guided reading activity.

Science week

The children have created their very own planet using watercolours and flicking paint to create a splatter (space background effect). Look how beautiful these planets look!

Book corner competition

Today the Reading Ambassadors worked with Mrs Parker to judge the winner of our book corner competition. They walked around school and gave some frank but fair comments about the book corners.

2nd place- Year 1 super powers themed

3rd place- Year 6 book thief theme

Year 3 will win their prize in assembly this week.

KS1 Library revamp

A little snippet of our Key Stage One library re-vamp in progress.... check out our class blog in the up-coming weeks for the final result!

Space Week 2024

For World Space Week 2024, the chosen theme is “Space & Climate Change.” This theme celebrates the impact of space technology in our ongoing battle against climate change, emphasizing the proactive role space exploration plays in enhancing our understanding and management of Earth’s climate.
