Year 5 World Book Day - DEAR and Reading Buddies from Year 1 !

Year 5 enjoyed pairing up with children from Year 1 for World Book Day!  Year 1 shared their favourite books with Year 5;  we even had some siblings reading together, which was lovely to see!  New friends were made and Year 5 hope they can return again soon.  Year 5 also enjoyed joining the BBC Live Lesson, as well as the D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) time, which gave them chance to read their own favourite books!   Thank you Year 5 and Year 1 - you were amazing!  Mrs Blomeley

Panini Classroom Challenge Winners

Well done to the winners of the Panini Classroom Challenge to design a football boot!

Our Sports Council met today to decide on the winners. It was such a decision as there were so many great entries!

Well done to everyone that took part!

Game Changers Challenge

Our Game Changers have set the school a challenge to see how many passes you can do in 30 seconds as part of #LetGirlsPlay day. Well done to everyone who has taken part!!

#LetGirlsPlay Assembly

Our Game Changers led the assembly on Tuesday to tell us all about their role as Game Changers and #LetGirlsPlay day which is taking place this Friday1 (7th March)

On Friday there will be girls only football matches at break and lunch. All classes have taken part in a challenge set by the Game Changers to do as many passes as they can in 30 seconds this week. The Game Changers also set a challenge to create a Broadbent Fold football logo/badge to be brought into school by Wednesday 12th March.

DEAR with Year 5

Today, we paired up with Year 5 and shared our favourite story with them. The year 5 children read our stories to us and we talked about out favourite parts. Thank you to Year 5!

Happy World Book Day

We have started World Book Day with a very cool assembly today. Year 6 shared a performance poem which could be read both ways called a palindrome. This had a strong message about refugees. Then Mrs Lewis shared her favourite story 'The wonky donkey' rapped by MC Grammar. We really enjoyed this so if you want to learn any more songs being sang by MC Grammar have a look on the internet. Then Miss Lewis shared a poem she has created all about our fabulous school.

Ash Randall visit

Today, we were lucky enough to have a visit from freestyle footballer Ash Randall. He showed us lots of his amazing skills and we couldn't wait to have a go at break and lunch time ourselves. We were impressed to find out that Ash has 25 world records for his freestyle football skills and also has an award for having over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. He said the main things for becoming a great freestyle footballer are determination, perseverance, passion and honesty - some of our sporting values!
