Our Year 4 and 5 girls football team had their very first matches in a friendly tournament against St Mary's Catholic Primary School. There was some great goal keeping, defending and passing skills. The rain didn't stop the girls and they had a great time! Well done girls!
Year 5 enjoyed making 2D shapes on their pin boards last week! They made regular shapes, irregular shapes and various different types of triangles including Isosceles, Equilateral and Scalene. They also drew and measured the area of their hands and we found out that taller children have the largest hand area! Great mathematical work Year 5! Mrs Blomeley
This week's Headteacher's merits were awarded for great contribution to class questioning and impressive enthusiasm! Good to be Green pencils were awarded for being Ready, Respectful and Safe whilst Silver Certificates and badges were given for those children who had achieved 100 Star Points! A Gold certificate and badge was awarded for gaining 170 Star :Point! Amazing work everyone! Well done! Mrs Blomeley
Year 5 had been looking forward to the planned picnic as part of the school's 50th Anniversay celebrations! The day didn't disappoint! They loved it! After finding the perfect spot to lay their picnic blankets, Year 5 ate their food and enjoyed the sunshine. They then headed off for fun and games, including Tug of War, Welly Throwing, Sack Racing and Skipping! It was such a fun afternoon, spending time outside with the whole school! Thank you to everyone who helped to make this happen! Mrs Blomeley
Year 6 performed a poem by Bill Bilston in assembly today. We first looked at this poem when we did our Windrush topic and it explores refugees. The poem can be read in two directions and at first year 6 were shocked at how racist the poem seemed to be!
Please watch our poem on this link: Year 6 Performance Poetry - YouTube
They performed it fantastically today :)
Gardening club worked doing weeding and pruning to make the school planters look amaxing.
Well done to winners of the Historical Timeline Competition who planted the time capsule and the Cherry Tree as part of Broadbent Fold's 50th birthday celebrations.
Look at our 50 years drone shots!
What a wonderful momentous occasion as Broadbent Fold celebrated turning 50. So many past teachers and pupils turned up to celebrate. We shared an assembly, planted a tree and a time capsule and enjoyed a slice of cake and a cup of tea reminiscing. What a fantastic morning we all had.
