Author Spotlight

The Reading Ambassadors set the whole school a challenge to research a famous author to share in assembly. Today each class shared some facts about their chosen authors including Michael Rosen, Francesca Simon, Tom Fletcher, Jeff Kinney, Katherine Rundell and Tony Bradman.

Handwriting Winners

Wow look at our handwriting board at all of the lovely handwriting being demonstrated throughout school. Our presentation is outstanding and progresses so well through school.

ART CLUB!

Following the recent Pupil Leaders meeting, we  have now started a lunchtime Art Club for Key Stage 2!  JJ and KMT have planned the ideas for the Club, ranging from sketching charactes to photographic art!   Today's group enjoyed being part of the first club and produced some amazing sketches!   Well done everyone!  Mrs Blomeley


Year 3 and 4 Dodgeball Competition

It was Year 3 and 4's turn to take part in dodgeball tonight and they had a fantastic time. It was lovely to see some pupils representing our school for the first time. They showed amazing dodging, catching and throwing skills and more importantly fantastic teamwork and team spirit. Well done everyone!


The Digestive System

Year 4 loved their Science lesson this week - even if it was a little gross!

They learnt all about the different parts of the digestive system and the function of each part. Can you spot which part of the digestive system they are learning about?


Year 4 Royal Opera Work

We loved hearing your interpretation of the colour Peony Pink that you chose to complete Omar's opera 'Blue, Red, Yellow...' .

Contemporary dance club

The girls have been working really hard in contemporary dance club ready for their showcase for parents on Friday 7th February. We can't wait for you to see the finished performance!


Tameside Cross Country Championships

14 of our KS2 pupils braved the cold weather for the Tameside Cross Country Championships on Saturday. Everyone did the school proud and showed amazing perseverance throughout. A special well done to Courtney, Jacob, George and Dominic who were selected to represent Tameside in the Greater Manchester Cross Country Championships! 

Year 3/4 Girls : Lois 9th, Matilda 20th, Norah 22nd and India 34th

Year 3/4 Boys: E 23rd, Luke 25th, Giancarlo 30th, Alex 34th and Ralph 43rd

Year 5/6 Girls: Courtney 11th and Lolly 13th

We are very proud of this young man in year 3. Recently he ran the Junior Heaton Park Run to raise money for the local food bank. He raised £160 and ran exceptionally well!!

Arches and bridges

Year 4 have been working really hard in their gymnastics lessons. They have been looking at symmetrical and asymmetrical turns and balances. This week we tried to incorporate our asymmetrical arches and bridges onto our apparatus. Well done everyone!
