The name of the new sensory room is...The Cosy Cave. As voted and created by our pupils. We are having a special sign created for this. The old computing room in KS2 has been cleared of all IT equipment, repainted and new furniture and resources have been purchased to make a calming space. We just wanted send an enormous thank you to our community your generosity developing our new sensory room. We also want to thank Lifeline4Kids, who also donated to the room, which again is fantastic.
This week is Careers Week at Broadbent Fold. We have engineers, a Team GB athlete, a sports journalist, scientists and designers attending our school to inspire our pupils to a world of employment. We held a careers fair and pupils had the opportunity to ask questions to our visitors. A big thank you to the magistrates, mental health practitioner, GMP, Findel Education, Ashton Sixth Form and the Director of Sports from the Stamford Park Trust. It was a fantastic morning and our pupils fully engaged with all the information to help them with their own future.
Year 4 wrote Mrs Parker lots of letters to presuade her (or not) to climb a mountain and raise monies for school. She replied to every letter and commented on how excellent they are were. She would love to climb a mountain, aslong as year 4 joined her!

What an amazing turn out for our sponsored walk this morning. It was a fantastic event that raised £2,833.50 for our sensory room. Thank you everyone for joining us.
I have just had the privilege of counting the money raised for our sponsored walk on Monday. Well, what can I say? You have raised £2,618.50 so far by sponsoring your child to walk around Gorse Hall. The Year 6 children have mapped the route this morning and are eager to marshal the event. We are so grateful for your generosity. Whenever you pop into school, please have a look at how our sensory room is developing. I look forward to seeing a lot of you on Monday morning when you join us on the sponsored walk. Dress up warmly as there is a slight chance of rain.
Our handwriting progression is so lovely to see on display at the front of the school.
Our winners this term are: Nursery- Hattie, Reception- Harry, Y1- Josef, Y2- Ava, Y3- Niki, Y4- Aila, Y5- Tilly, Y6- Lily T

Year 4 have been analysing shape, line, pattern and colour in Cézanne's artwork of Mont Sainte-Victoire. They are looking forward to using these skills in their own landscape painting soon.
Year 4 loved their online workshop with author and historian, Greg Jenner. They told him so many facts they remembered about the Romans and the Stone Age and learnt how he uses his history knowledge to write childrens books. He has even been involved in Horrible Histories!
