I hope you've had a restful February break, and the children are eager to return to school. They have been working ever so hard last half term, and I hope they're buzzing to get started on our What did the Windrush scandal teach us topic. In Geography, they will be researching the HMS Windrush; we will be linking this knowledge closely to our writing skills. In science, the children will be organising and running the Science Fair, which takes place in British Science Week on 9th March 2026. This term, we have our outdoor activities day is organised for Monday, 16th March. Please keep an eye out for emails from Mrs Parker. We now have PE on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, where the children will be learning Dance and Cricket. This term, the children have a knife crime workshop on the 10th March. There is a SATS meeting for parents at 3:30 on Monday, 23rd March, where we will share vital information about your child's upcoming assessments. This term, we will be fine-tuning the children's reasoning skills in maths, and developing their understanding of grammatical terminology. To ensure that the children are not overwhelmed by their assessments, they will be completing the 2025 papers as a MOCK SATS test starting on the 23rd March. Please find attached the MTP for Spring 2. There is no creative home learning this half term. However, it is expected that the children put some effort into revising terminology and skills that we have practised in class. The children are very welcome to come into school every morning from 8:15 to use SATS Companion or SPaG.com to revise from Monday, 9th of March until Friday, 8th of May. If they are unable to attend, work will be set daily to support their learning, which can be accessed at home.
