They predicted and carried out a fair test to find out which building design was the best design.

Year 3 Spring 1

Dear Year 3,

Welcome back and Happy New Year! We hope you’ve had a lovely Christmas break and are ready for our new topic. We have some exciting activities planned for this half term, based around our topic – What makes Earth angry? In this topic we will be expanding our geographical knowledge and learning about volcanos, earthquakes and tsunami. We will design and build models of earthquake proof buildings. In Science we will continue exploring formation of rocks, fossils and soil.

Amazing children in Year 3

We have given children in Year 3 a range of different certificates this week to show the variety of skills Year 3 are learning including Vocabulary Ninja, Sports' Award, Mathematics award and Super Science award. Well done to those children.

Attendance awards have also been awarded for fabulous 100% attendance especially special to receive.

Winter Reading

Over the holidays why not take part in the Winter Mini Challenge?

All you have to do is read at least 3 books between Wednesday 1st December and Sunday 16th January. Once you've read a book, add it to your website profile at summerreadingchallenge.org.uk and review it. Add 3 books (or more) to complete the Mini Winter challenge and become a Wild World Hero!

There's a brand new certificate and a limited edition virtual badge which can be won.

Rock Art Gallery

Today, we started our lesson with exploring four examples of world famous rock sculptures. We also learnt about Andy Goldsworthy and we looked at examples of his work. Then, we created our own rock balancing sculptures.
