Dance

We started today Dance session off with a discussion about what we already know about The Great Fire of London. The children were already very knowledgeable and have been comprehending our class text well. We then discussed the importance of warming up and dancing using counts of 8. We then began our warm up travelling through the narrow streets of Pudding Lane using walking, changing direction, skipping and jogging. The children were then given topic specific words linked to The Great Fire of London (fire, houses, bakery and water) and had to create an action or movement to show this. The children explored creating the movements using different parts of their bodies. The children watched each other ideas and gave each other feedback on what they could see and what they liked and why. Then the children then learnt some movements and explored doing them at different levels and directions. Well done everyone!
