Tameside Libraries half term events May-June 2022

Join Ashton Library this half term for a drop-in activity with crafts, games and a treasure hunt with a nature-theme for children aged 4-11- no need to book! 

They will be family workshops available in association with 'Made be mortals theatre company' at Dukinfield Library.

Storyteller John Kirk will be visiting Droylsden Library for a special in person story hunt with a minibeasts theme.

Outdoor Learning Day in Year 5!

Year 5 spent their outdoor learning time today searching for materials for their Design & Technology project!  Their objective is to build a habitable structure, that is suitable to live on an island, whilst providing shade from the sun and protection from the wind and the rain!  The class are currently at the design stage but they're looking forward to building and testing their structures!   Mrs Blomeley


Passion Fruit Tasting in Year 5!

In Year 5's class text, Kensuke's Kingdom, the main character, Michael, has been trying some exotic fruits!  Today, Year 5 sampled some passion fruit!   This egg shaped, purple fruit  has a variety of benefits, including Vitamin A, Vitamin C, fibre and other nutrients!  Most children enjoyed it, even if it was a little tangy!  Mrs Blomeley


Cricket champions

Broadbent Fold had a fantastic afternoon at the cricket and we had lovely weather for a change too! In the first round we played Arlies Primary School winning the game 79-49. We then played Bradley Green Primary Academy and won 85-42 putting us in the final.


Year 6 Arts Award

Today we celebrated our Arts Award achievement. Our year 6 pupils received their Arts Award certificate linked to working with an artist in school around the topic of ‘Keen to be Green’. Where we had a focus on our environment and clean air.


Year 5 Awards!

Well done to all of Year 5 award winners last week who received their certificates in our Merit Assembly!  You are all amazing!  Mrs Blomeley


Year 5's morning with Freddy Fit!

Year 5 enjoyed their session with Freddy Fit last week!  The class showed amazing stamina and resilience when they engaged in all of the activities!  These included hand to eye coordination games, hoola hooping, skipping and, most importantly, team work!  They were amazing!  Well done Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley

The Mental Health Foundation hosted the first Mental Health Awareness Week 21 years ago – a key moment for people and organisations across the UK to reflect on the importance of mental health and wellbeing.This year, the theme is loneliness.

Rounders Skills!

Year 5 are enjoying brushing up their Rounder skills!  This week they have been learning how to bowl accurately at a consistent height, using a simple technique of throwing the ball through a hoop!  It wasn't as easy as it looked but by the end of the session everyone's bowling skills had improved.  Great teamwork Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley


Awards in Year 5 !
