Year 5 had an amazing array of book characters yesterday! They included Mr Twit, Frodo Baggins, Darth Vader, Where's Wally and Willy Wonka to Ghostbusters, Hermione Grainger and Glenda from Wicked! Alex Ryder was out in force and Super Mario made a guest appearance! We even had a Dictionary! Everyone looked fantastic! Well done Year 5!
Today year 3 delivered their character speeches to see who would be the ultimate character champion. I was so impressed with the whole class and their oracy skills shone. The Year 5 judges Jacob, Vinnie and Millie took the time to listen to all of the speeches. They then had the difficult decision of choosing a champion and some runners up. The judges were amazing and they gave constructive feedback to the class.
Our winner was Mason.
Our runners up are Aston, Daisy, Hallie and Emmie.
Year 5 enjoyed pairing up with children from Year 1 for World Book Day! Year 1 shared their favourite books with Year 5; we even had some siblings reading together, which was lovely to see! New friends were made and Year 5 hope they can return again soon. Year 5 also enjoyed joining the BBC Live Lesson, as well as the D.E.A.R. (Drop Everything And Read) time, which gave them chance to read their own favourite books! Thank you Year 5 and Year 1 - you were amazing! Mrs Blomeley
Our Year 5 and 6 girls' football team won a very tough match against St Christopher's RC school and progress to the final of the Kate Stonehewer cup!
After full time and extra time, the game was still at 0-0. Due to great goal keeping skills, it took 7 penalties before a team scored!
A special well done to Lolly for scoring the winning penalty and Matilda for keeping her cool in net!
Well done girls! We are so proud of you!
