Road Safety Winners

A huge congratulations to our Road Safety Poster Winners - Lois and Harry. We also had lots of runners up, because they were so good. Very colourful deisgns, which showed pupils how to stay safe on our roads. 


Tag Rugby skills in Year 5

Year 5 have improved their Tag Rugby skills over the weeks under the expert care of Mr Williamson.  The class were encouraged to play the ball quickly to catch out their opponents this week!  Great work Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley


Year 5 Awards w/e 4.10.24

The whole class achieved a Headteacher's award this week for the fantastic knowledge they shared at their Victorian visit to George Street Chapel and their wonderful behaviour!  Other awards were given for being brilliant in Maths and for being Ready, Respectful and Safe to achieve Good to be Green awards.  Our first Handwriting certificate was also awarded this week for beautifully formed and joined writing!  Well done everyone!


Handwriting Awards Autumn 1

Our new handwriting display work looks wonderful outside Mrs Parker's room. I am very impressed with the motor skills being used and the neat presentation across school.

Year 5 go back to Victorian times at George Street Chapel!

As part of their Victorian Topic, Year 5 enjoyed travelling back in time to George Street Chapel in Odham ths week!  They met families from the past who explained that life was tough for most Victorians.  Children had to work both inside and outside their homes without, of course, some of the inventions that were discovered during the Victorian era.  They enjoyed their time at school, followed by some creative activities in the afternoon such as making peg dolls, being historical detectives and handwriting with pen and ink!   Everyone contributed to a bit of problem solving by fixing togeth


Awards in Year 5 w/e 27.9.24

Brilliant work in Year 5 last week!  Merits were awarded for being a great friend to everyone and being a brilliant role model in Year 5, as well as being creative and thinking of amazing ideas for our Reading Corner Competition!  Good to be Green awards were given for following our school rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe!  Well done!  Mrs Blomeley


Front Row Music

John from Front Row Music came in to school today for an assembly. The children were amazed at how simple it was play the guitar and were shown how to play chords, melodies and sang along to many songs. If you're interested in taking ukukele or guitar lessons with Drew on Fridays, please ask at the school office for details. 


Victorian Hot Seating in Year 5!

To enhance their diary writing, and to improve their oracy skills, Year 5 took on the roles of workhouse children and the main character of our class text “Street Child”.  The characters and the class were amazing and used all the information they have learnt so far to ask and answer questions!  We definitely have some budding actors and actresses in Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley

Headteacher awards in Year 5 last week were given for brilliant Hot Seating and amazing reasoning in our Guided Reading task.  Being Ready, Respectful and Safe earned awards for our Good to be Green winners!  Great work Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley


New Library!

The furniture for our new library has arrived and it looks so smart. Thank you for your fund raising contributions to help us make this area colourful and enticing for our pupils. The new texts look great and it inspires our pupils to use the library and explore books.
