“An emotion is like a fish in a pond that can take over at any time.” (Primary school child)

The Mental Health Foundation hosted the first Mental Health Awareness Week 21 years ago – a key moment for people and organisations across the UK to reflect on the importance of mental health and wellbeing. This year, the theme is loneliness.

Ollee is a digital friend for children aged 8-11 – created by Parent Zone and funded by BBC Children in Need’s A Million & Me initiative.

It helps children explore feelings around school, family, friends, the world, and more – and lets them share the advice with a parent or trusted adult.

Ollee listens to how children are feeling and then offers support and ideas about what to do. Even if they’re not sure, Ollee helps them figure it out.
