Welcome to Year 2 blog
Mrs Slate and Miss Laitl are class teachers.
Here is some information you may find useful:
Creative home learning is set at the beginning of every half... more
This half term, we’ll be diving into the world of dragons, castles, and brave knights! The children will explore stories and adventures featuring these magical creatures and think carefully about what makes a good friend. We’ll be asking questions like:
What would it be like to have a dragon as a friend?
Would dragons be kind and helpful, or fiery and fierce?
How can we show kindness and friendship to others?
Through reading, writing, and creative activities, the children will use their imaginations to bring these ideas to life. There will be lots of opportunities for storytelling, role play, and art as we learn more about friendship and mythical creatures.
As we get closer to Christmas, we’ll also be turning our attention to a very special piece of writing — letters to Father Christmas! The children will think carefully about what they might like to ask for, and how to write polite, thoughtful letters using their growing knowledge of phonics, punctuation, and full sentences.
It’s going to be a magical and creative few weeks in Year 1 — full of wonder, stories, and festive excitement!
