Summer Term in Year 4

Summer Term in Year 4

I do hope you've all had a lovely Whit holiday and are ready and the children are raring for our last term. This half term we're whizzing back in time to the Ancient Egyptians. The children will be learning about this advanced civilization, using hieroglyphics, finding out about Howard Carter, pharaohs and the importance of the River Nile and making a shaduf. It's a busy half term and we will also be having a sports week, diversity week and learning about changes in our bodies and puberty.  I have attached the half term Medium Term Plan and Home Learning Grid alongside a 30 day wildlife investigation. Don't forget to keep practising those timestables as the children will be being tested in the first few days after the holidays.  Throughout the next few weeks, we will be continuing to learn to play the penny whistles and to swim on Thursday. There is a little change for the PE day as the children will be learning cricket on a Wednesday with the PE coach so they will need their outdoor kit on that day, not on Tuesdays.  Don't forget that home learning books should be in every Monday and reading books every day. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me on Seesaw or email the school office. Kind regards
