Creative home learning is set at the beginning of every half... more
Today, the children took part in a fun and practical activity as part of their Design and Technology learning. They made their own chocolate spread sandwiches while developing important skills. The children followed a set of instructions carefully, learning about the correct order of steps needed to make their sandwich. They practised spreading the chocolate carefully, assembling their sandwich, and talking about the process they followed. This activity helped the children understand how instructions work and why it is important to complete steps in the correct order. It also gave them the opportunity to develop their independence and confidence in the classroom.
Tomorrow, the children will build on this experience by writing their own set of instructions for how to make a jam sandwich. Using what they learned today, they will think carefully about the order of steps and the key words needed to make their instructions clear.
I look forward to seeing their fantastic instruction writing!
