In our science learning this week year 6 have been learning about the circulatory system. We started by role playing how the circulatory system works by pumping oxygenated blood to the body to every living cell through the arteries. The blood carries nutrients, oxygen and water. Once the oxygen has been distributed this now deoxygenated blood is pumped back to the heart through the veins. The heart then pumps this blood back to the lungs to receive more oxygen. This process is repeated again and again. The children were very good at acting this out. We have also made some heart pumps with valves so that the blood can only travel in onle direction.
