Head teacher's blog

Our New Active Uniform.

Look at our new school active uniform. The pupils sprinted into school this morning, ready to learn, ready to be active and happy. Well done everyone for supporting this move. We are very proud.

Meet our Prefects.

Take a look at our new Prefects. What a fabulous group of pupils have been voted to represent our school. They are able to give out star points too, so are helping teachers spot excellent behaviour.

Meet our Head Girl and Head Boy.

I am very proud to announce that Toby and Millie are our New Head Girl and Head Boy for 2025 -2026. They applied for the position last year and our last year 6s voted for them. What brilliant leaders and role models we have.

Rotary Club Community Award

Today we accepted £300 from Tameside Rotary Club - Small grants make a difference. Mr Moon presented Miss Lewis (Our D&T Teacher) and Head Boy and Girl with our certificate for the community award. We are very grateful for this as it will support us growing fruit and vegatables and encouraging the local community into school to cook with us.

A little thank you from JR.

We received boxes of goodies from the Jason Robinson Foundation - our cricket stars and cheerleaders were rewarded with some amazing gifts. Thank you to the foundation!

New Leaders...

Our current Head Girl and Head Boy had the challenging job of choosing our new Head Girl/ Boy and Prefects. They were sweating at one point, because it was so difficult from all the amazing year 5 applications.

The Food for Fitness Award with Joe Wicks

We were shortlisted for this brilliant award - we are runners up.  I am so impressed with our nomination. This inspiring, encouraging person is all about getting kids excited about good food and being active. From cooking and eating good food to making exercise super fun and engaging, they’re all about boosting kids’ minds, bodies and souls.

WELL DONE BROADBENT FOLD!

Career Celebration Event

Yesterday I attended a special celebration event championed by Mayor Andy Burnham. It was to celebrate all our hard work with careers and ensuring it is integral to our curriculum. A special video was displayed and I shall share this as soon as I receive it - lots of our pupils are referred to in this. I was so proud.

Summer Fair 2025

Thank you to everyone for making our summer fair a success. The rain did not dampen our enjoyment. All our monies will go to classroom resources. Raffle winners will be notified by e-mail. Thank you also to our amazing year 5 pupils for their own stall and raising funds for school.
