Contemporary Dance Performance

Our contemporary dance club have been working so hard this half term and enjoyed performing to parents and carers on Friday. A big thank you to Laura from United Sports Coaching for choreographing a fantastic routine and for running the club each week.

Year 6 Viking Day Showcase

The children have done me proud today. They indendently immersed themselves in Viking activities and celebrating the day by in their representations in their history books. How good do they look.

A hard day as a Viking

Year 6 really got stuck in to being a Viking today. They: decorated drinking vessels, decyphered rune code, drew a Viking, created a bracelet, broach and tollen. They loved the idea that the Vikings played a form of chess, braided hair and even debated. Their favourite activity of the day was to recreate their Viking Saga- keep looking out for more photographs as the day progresses.

Broadbent Fold vs Gee Cross

Our Year 5 and 6 boys football team played the second round of the Alan Millea cup against Gee Cross Holy Trinity School tonight. It was a very tight game that finished 4-4 and went to penalties. Broadbent Fold won on penalties 4-2! Great effort boys, well done!

Science - Investigating the heart

We have been learning about the heart in Science this half term. In this lesson, we wanted to find out how and why our heart rate increases. The class tried different exercises before measuring and counting their pulse to find out the beats per minute.

Super Proud

Well done to our Year 6 girls who organised and talked in assembly about our class author- Tony Bradman. Great work girls and thank you.

Author Spotlight

The Reading Ambassadors set the whole school a challenge to research a famous author to share in assembly. Today each class shared some facts about their chosen authors including Michael Rosen, Francesca Simon, Tom Fletcher, Jeff Kinney, Katherine Rundell and Tony Bradman.

Thank you for sharing your facts and please look out for these author books in our library.

Phenomenal Home Learning in Year 6

Year 6 were tasked with making a Viking Longboat in any way shape or form that they chose. As you can see the results are phenomenal. Well done Year 6, I hope you enjoyed your creative home learning project this half term.
