Game Changers Challenge

Our Game Changers have set the school a challenge to see how many passes you can do in 30 seconds as part of #LetGirlsPlay day. Well done to everyone who has taken part!!

#LetGirlsPlay Assembly

Our Game Changers led the assembly on Tuesday to tell us all about their role as Game Changers and #LetGirlsPlay day which is taking place this Friday1 (7th March)

On Friday there will be girls only football matches at break and lunch. All classes have taken part in a challenge set by the Game Changers to do as many passes as they can in 30 seconds this week. The Game Changers also set a challenge to create a Broadbent Fold football logo/badge to be brought into school by Wednesday 12th March.

Happy World Book Day

We have started World Book Day with a very cool assembly today. Year 6 shared a performance poem which could be read both ways called a palindrome. This had a strong message about refugees. Then Mrs Lewis shared her favourite story 'The wonky donkey' rapped by MC Grammar. We really enjoyed this so if you want to learn any more songs being sang by MC Grammar have a look on the internet. Then Miss Lewis shared a poem she has created all about our fabulous school.

Ash Randall visit

Today, we were lucky enough to have a visit from freestyle footballer Ash Randall. He showed us lots of his amazing skills and we couldn't wait to have a go at break and lunch time ourselves. We were impressed to find out that Ash has 25 world records for his freestyle football skills and also has an award for having over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. He said the main things for becoming a great freestyle footballer are determination, perseverance, passion and honesty - some of our sporting values!

What a treat!

Ash Randell came to school today to show us some of his freestyle football tricks. What a fabulous visit!

Volleyball in Year 6

Year 6 thoroughly enjoyed their first volleyball lesson. It was quite a challenge to bump the ball backwards and forwards in our drills but they all tried really hard.

BBF vs St Mary’s Catholic

Congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 girls' football team who won their game against St Mary's Catholic Primary School (Dukinfield) 8-1 and progress to the semi finals of the Kate Stonehewer Cup.

Spring 2- Year 6

Our new topic is:  What did the Windrush scandal teach us. In Geography, they will be researching about The HMS Windrush; we will be linking this knowledge closely to our writing skills.  In science, the children will be organising and running the Science Fair, which takes part in British Science Week on 10th March 2025 and a visit to Rayner Stephens on the 25th March. This term, we have our outdoor activities day organised on Monday 31st March. Please keep an eye out for emails from Mrs Parker. PE days have now changed.
