Pulleys and cranes

Year 3 have enjoyed exploring pulley mechanisms to create cranes to pull the iron man up the hill. Great DT skills.

Vocab Ninjas

Well done to the Vocab Ninjas who have impressed their teachers with their use of vocabulary in their spoken and written work.

Passover live lesson

Year 3 enjoyed joining the live lesson about Passover which was broadcast by The Jewish Museum today. This supported their RE work about Judaism and festivals. They found out about the Seder Plate, its content and what this represents to Jewish people. We looked at the story of the Passover and why it is named so. I am very impressed with their knowledge of the subject.

Stereotypes in the workplace

Today in PSHE we played one of our talking games called 'Consensus Circle' to debate the question 'Which jobs are best suited to women?'

We had some interesting discussions using a talk token each time we wanted to talk. We had to listen carefully to our group to be able to state whether we agreed or disagreed with their ideas.

We decided that women can and should do any job they want to. Nothing can hold them back if they are determined. However they did agree that some jobs may be better suited only because of the interests which some women may have.

Dentist Visit

Years 3 and 4 enjoyed their visit from the dentistry team at Crown Point. They learnt all about how to brush their teeth properly, foods that are good and bad for our teeth and were even lucky enough to get a goody bag each to help us to look after our teeth.
