Broadbent Fold vs Arlies

Our Year 4 and 5 boys football team had their first game against Arlies PrImary School this week with a final score of 0-2. They showed great promise and teamwork with some fantastic passing skills and lots of shoto on target. We can't wait to see how you develop as a team in future matches. Well done boys!


Gold Award!

We are delighted to announce that Broadbent Fold Primary School, have achieved the School Games GOLD Mark Award for the 2022/23 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.


Broadbent Fold vs Gee Cross

Broadbent Fold's boys football team had a fantastic friendly match against Gee Cross Primary School winning the game 3-1. There was some great team working, passing and defending especially in the second half where we really worked as a team. Well done everyone!


Cheshire Cricket Finals

We had a lovely afternoon at the Cheshire cricket finals on Wednesday and we came 3rd overall beating Godley in round 1 and losing a very close game against Arlies. We then won our friendly against Lyndhurst before we played St Mary's Dukinfield in the play off for 3rd place in another very close game. Everyone showed brilliant batting and fielding skills with lots of 6s scored, catches and lots of bowling to hit the wickets. Well done everyone!


Basketball finals

The pupils that represented Broadbent Fold in the basketball competition did us proud coming 4th in Tameside! They worked really well together as a team both attacking and defending on the court and showing great sportsmanship throughout. They only conceded 2 goals throughout the entirety of the competition and had some fantastic shots themselves.

Broadbent Fold vs St John Fisher

Broadbent Fold girls football team had a tough semi final against St John Fisher with the final score been 0-2. Even though the girls didn't make it to the final they should be really proud of how much progress they have made as a team and how well they have played together and supported one another. Well done everyone!


Basketball competition

Some Year 5 and 6 pupils took part in a basketball competition tonight and they were amazing and have qualified for the finals next week! They showed great teamwork, encouraging and supporting one another, and were determined throughout. They beat Micklehurst B team 6-0, Greswell A team 4-0, Manchester Road A team 6-0 and Arlies B team 2-0. 

Amazing job everyone - bring on the finals next week!


Broadbent Fold vs St Mary’s, Denton

Broadbent Fold girls football team had a fantastic match last night against St Mary's, Denton winning the game 6-3 and progressing to the semi finals. Players of the match go to Heidi for her fantastic goal keeping skills and Ruby for how much th confidence grew throughout the game. Thank you to all the Year 6 boys and parents who came to cheer on the team.


Broadbent Fold vs St Johns

Broadbent Fold boys football team had a tough match against St Johns with a final score of 2-5. A special mention to player of the match Jack for showing great sportsmanship and encouraging the team throughout the match. Well done to everyone that played, you did our school proud.


Indoor athletics competition

Broadbent Fold loved taking part in the indoor athletics competition. They came 17th in Tameside (19th in the track events and 13th in the field events). The schools best events were the girls triple jump, the speed bounce and the boys over under relay. Well done to everyone that took part, you did the school proud.
