Anglo Saxon Fun in Year 5!

Year 5 ended their Anglo Saxon topic with a lot of fun and creativity this week!  All children completed their creative homework task by making shields! They were all fantastic and are now proudly on display in our Reception area in school.  They spent their Anglo Saxon Day baking, making bracelets and making Anglo Saxon jewellery.  Even the rain didn't stop us practising our shield formations and the famous "Charge" battle!  Well done Year 5!  You were all amazing and deserved the whole class Headteacher's Award this week!  Mrs Blomeley

Year 5 Sponsored Walk

What a brilliant morning walking in the fresh air and learning about our local history. Mrs Parker and Mr Foley joined year 5 on their walk and Sam our year 6 leader did a brilliant job of organising and sharing information. Thank you everyone for your donations! Thank you to our families also for helping on the walk.

Anglo Saxon Baking!

As part of their Anglo Saxon Day yesterday, the whole class enjoyed the opportunit to bake some Anglo Saxon Honey, Oat and Spice Cakes!  They worked with Mrs Hallam to create their baking, using measuring skills to follow the ancient recipe.  Later in the morning, they were able to sample their hard work - the cakes were delicious!  Well done Year 5 and a big Thank You to Mrs Hallam!  Mrs Blomeley

Pokémon Girls Football Qualifiers

Last week our Year 4 and 5 girls football team took part in the Pokémon football qualifiers against St Mary's and Gee Cross Holy Trinity Primary School. It was the first time they had played together but they showed great teamwork and managed to score 2 goals and come 2nd in their group! A special well done to player of the match, Matilda, for her fantastic goal keeping skills throughout the games. Well done girls!
