Meet our new Librarians. We had our first meeting on Friday and they already have lots of plans for the year ahead. They will be very busy soon helping to organise our new library furniture. The lunchtime clubs will start very soon and they can't wait to get going.

Year 5 have got off to a great start with their PE sessions! In Tag Rugby, with Mr Williams the Sports Coach, they have been practising the correct way to hold a rugby ball, as well as learning the importance of using different kinds of passes. In Hockey, the children started by learning how to hold the wooden hockey sticks correctly and moved on to practising their dribbling skills. They enjoyed a game of "Rob the Nest" by attempting to dribble as many balls as possible from the centre "nest" to their own hoops! Brilliant work Year 5! Mrs Blomeley

What a fantastic start to Year 5 we have had! The whole class received a Headteacher's merit! It was so difficult to choose a particular person as they have all impressed me in some way! Other awards were given for great Maths work and our Good to be Green awards were presented, as always, for following our school rules of being Ready, Respectfu; and Safe! Thank you Year 5! Welcome to Year 5! Our first half term's topic is "What was life like for Victorian children?" and we have some exciting and inspiring activities to help us delve into this important period in history. Our visit to George Street Chapel will enhance their learning and help the class to empathise with children from the past. During this last Half Term, Year 5 have immersed themselves in all things South American! They created homework tasks, based on one of the South American countries - our knowledge (including mine) has grown so much! The children can now successfully match the images of the different flags (in record time) and they are able to identify the difference between a human and a physical feature. They can also recognise work by the famous Brazilian artist, Beatriz Milhazes! Amazing! Here are some of them presenting their topics to the class, along with their work on display. Thank you Year 5

Today we shared our final awards assembly. In each class two children won a special end of year award for either attainment or behaviour- they also received a gift card to say thank you for their hard work this year. We also celebrated our leaders around school including our Head Boy and Girl, Prefects, Librarians, Reading Ambassadors, Pupil Leaders, Sports Ambassadors and Eco leaders.
Additionally we found out our new Head Boy and Girl and prefects for our next academic year- I am sure they will all do a wonderful job.

As part of their South American topic, Mrs Hallam helped Year 5 to make Guacamole this week! Using avocado, lime juice, cherry tomatoes and a hint of garlic, the children demonstrated their culinary skills of cutting, mashing and mixing to make this South American based dipl They really enjoyed making it and (most) children loved eating it afterwards with Doritos! Well done everyone and a massive thank you to Mrs Hallam for helping them! Mrs Blomeley
A huge congratulations to Team Amber, who have won the House Cup and will receive non-uniform day on Friday 26th July. The team scored a huge 1,091 points! Well done.
