Our Reading Ambassadors have set an October Reading Challenge.
Children will be given a book scavenger hunt to complete over the October half term. They need to hunt for different items in a book and write down the title of the book they found their item in on their answer sheet. These need to be completed and handed into class teachers by Wednesday 2nd November.
Happy hunting...
When Year 5 were presented with a challenge to land an egg, safely and slowly, they used their new-found knowledge of air resistance to design and make a parachute! They had great fun doing this but also worked together in their teams, with amazing ideas and discussions, to get the best possible design. Well done Year 5 - your scientific skills are amazing! Mrs Blomeley
Well done to our Year 5 award winners for last week! Fantastic work in R.E, being kind and considerate to others and, of course, being Ready, Respectful and Safe are the reasons for these awards! Keep up the great work everyone and thank you! Mrs Blomeley
Yesterday our Reading Ambassadors had their first online training session with Tameside Libraries. We used padlet to add our ideas in the session about how we can promote reading more in our school.
I am very proud of their dedication in this role! Well done!
Today we had a wonderful surprise visit from Ms Lund the Assistant Headteacher at Rayner Stephens. She presented Sam with 8 books for winning a competition set on their Open Evening. Sam loves reading and this is the perfect prize for him. Out of 10, Sam said this was 11! Thank you to Rayner Stephens.
Thank you so much for your generous donations to Barty's Foodbank. I know they will be very grateful for all of the food.
