New to Year 4

Oh wow what an exciting new year we have ahead of us and I'm over the moon to be teaching the children in Year 4 this year. We master several new milestones this year as the children get the opportunity to learn to swim, play  a musical instrument and learn to speak Polish for the first time. Our very first topic is The Romans and we're off on an adventure to Chester on the 8th October- a letter will be coming out soon but pencil in the date.

Year 4 End of Year Awards!

Congratulations to Boyd and Alfie who received Year 4's awards for behaviour and attainment. They are both very worthy winnders - well done!  Also, to Abigail, who received a prize for being an amazing Worry Wizrd Ambassador!  Thank you for all your help!  We are very proud of all of you!  Mrs Blomeley.

Telling Stories in Year 4!

Year 4 enjoyed telling their Time Travel stories to some of the children from Year 3 in the last week of term.  Year 4 had made time travel objects to ‘appear’ in their adventure stories which they had written.  Year 3 were able to hold the magical objects, such as pens, rings and boxes,  whilst they were listening!  They got some great feedback:  “amazing”, “incredible” and “awesome” were just some of the words used by Year 3 to describe them.  Well done to both classes for your speaking and listening skills!  Mrs Blomeley

Year 4 had a fantastic time at the Summer Fair on Friday!  There was so much to do!  Bouncy Castles, Football, Hoola Hoop and Hook a Duck as well as face-painting, tattoos, nail painting and hair spraying!  All the children came away with a bag of goodies and their final treat was a delicious ice lolly!  The PTFA did a brilliant job!  Thank you so much to everyone for your time and for making it a great success!

Keeping Fit in the Playground !

Our Key Stage 2 Pupil Leaders enjoyed demonstrating the new playground equipment today!  The newly installed apparatus was chosen by last year’s Pupil Leadership Team and is proving extremely popular!  The children think it’s a great way to keep fit whilst having a chat with your friends!

Olympic Torch

The Olympic Torch arrived last week as we took part in Tameside's baton relay. Our Sports Ambassadors ran through school with the London 2012 torch and they were joined by a special mascot!

It was a fabulous end to our Sports Week.
