Exciting Egyptians

Year 4 found out about the Ancient Egyptians hieroglyphics and number system today. They were intrigued to find out about Ancient Egyptian tombs, mummification and how important the River Nile was. Look how fantastic their work was.

Broadbent Fold vs St Mary’s

Our Year 4 and 5 girls football team had their very first matches in a friendly tournament against St Mary's Catholic Primary School. There was some great goal keeping, defending and passing skills. The rain didn't stop the girls and they had a great time! Well done girls!

Year 4 Awards

What a fabulous week for Year 4. They achieved amazing multiplication results, completed their NFER tests with great results, achieved their swimming certificates, completed minibeast hunts and shared their feelings about growing up and diversity. Well done to everyone this week.

Our 50th Celebrations

What a lovely day for a whole school picnic and games! We enjoyed picnic food and played some party games, including: tug of war, sack race, hula hoop contest, penalty shootout, welly throw competition, egg and sppon race and a skipping competition. Even the weather stayed dry, bright and sunny. The children loved being out together as a whole school. A big thank you to all the parents for their kind donations towards party food.

Y6 Poem Performance

Year 6 performed a poem by Bill Bilston in assembly today. We first looked at this poem when we did our Windrush topic and it explores refugees. The poem can be read in two directions and at first year 6 were shocked at how racist the poem seemed to be!

Please watch our poem on this link: Year 6 Performance Poetry - YouTube

They performed it fantastically today :)

Super Minibeast Hunt

Year 4 were amazed to find so many insects outside on the school field. We found so many woodlice, ladybirds, slugs, spiders, beetles and black caterpillars. Fantastic hunting Year 4.

Anniversary Assembly

What a wonderful momentous occasion as Broadbent Fold celebrated turning 50. So many past teachers and pupils turned up to celebrate. We shared an assembly, planted a tree and a time capsule and enjoyed a slice of cake and a cup of tea reminiscing. What a fantastic morning we all had.
