It is lovely to see how much the children's handwritng and presentation skills are developing from the start of the year. All of these children have impressed their teachers
White Rose Maths has teamed up with leading supermarket, Morrisons, to give primary pupils a series of exciting and FREE workbooks to use at home. These colourful and engaging workbooks are perfect for revisiting and practising work that children have covered earlier in the year, or to prepare them for the new school year ahead.
Year 3 children had an amazing time at the fair today. They had their nails and faces painted and hair sprayed. They bounced and did summersaults on the bouncy castle. They won lots of prizes. To finish the day off they had yummy ice lollies. What a great day it was! Thank you PTFA for organising it.
Our Key Stage 2 Pupil Leaders enjoyed demonstrating the new playground equipment today! The newly installed apparatus was chosen by last year’s Pupil Leadership Team and is proving extremely popular! The children think it’s a great way to keep fit whilst having a chat with your friends!
The Olympic Torch arrived last week as we took part in Tameside's baton relay. Our Sports Ambassadors ran through school with the London 2012 torch and they were joined by a special mascot!
It was a fabulous end to our Sports Week.
Amazing work on resilience - Year 3 are showing such skills and being resilient especially over the last year during lockdowns, when they couldn't see friends and family.
We are so proud of them.

Year 3 spelling activities
Attached are a copy of spellings - group 1 and group 2 (the attached are for several weeks NOT to be done all at once)
Each week, starting from 12th May, one paper spelling task will be given out each for children to complete at home and to return to school. This task will be stuck into their spelling homework book.
If children are isolating then the spelling activities can be copied into paper and completed- no need to print.

During the last half term of the year, Year 3 children will learn about Greece and Ancient Greeks, the Medium Term Plan attached provides an overview of the learning we have planned. If children would like to do some research about the Ancient Greeks and share this on our learning platform Seesaw, we would love to see it.
If children are isolating at home then please complete some of the activities on our Home Learning Grid (see attached).
