Year 3 will be exploring Ted Hughes' The Iron Man- is he a hero or a villain? We will explore the themes of prejudice, bravery and acceptance through our class text which will inspire us to create our own hero narratives. In maths we will continue to learn our 3, 4 and 8 x table facts- can you practise this at home? We are looking forward to our Crumble Coding workshop on 2nd March- please ensure this is paid for so it can go ahead. Don't forget World Book Day events in the second week back. We have a very busy 5 weeks.

Year 3 are completing a challenge each day to recognise Children’s Mental Health Week and then we will win a certificate. Today for Wellbeing Wednesday we focused on breathing and mindfulness. We watched a clip about what happens to our brains when we feel different emotions. The work being completed is lovely and I hope it helps with some strategies for looking after wellbeing. So far we have looked at positive affirmations, gratefulness and breathing.

This week year 3 have explored magnets in different ways. Today they have planned and carried out their own fair tests to explore which magnet was the strongest.

Year 3 have talked about being safe online this week. In PSHE we did a lesson about how to stay safe when making friends online. Today we joined in with a live lesson from BBC about Artificial Intelliegence and the pros and cons. We have homework on Seesaw to discuss AI at home with our families.
