Hot or Cold?
Welcome back! I hope you all had a lovely Easter break! Our topic for Summer 1 is “Hot or Cold?”. We will be learning all about the North Pole, South Pole and the Equator, identifying where these are on a globe and comparing the key features of hot and cold places. We will also be going on an exciting trip to Imagine That, where the children will take part in lots of fun, hands-on activities. They will explore the art area to get creative, enjoy the water play zone, and investigate in the science area with experiments and discovery.
World Maths Day - Buildings using 2D shapes
To further our World Maths Day celebrations, Year 1 created their own buildings and famous buildings (from around the world) using 2D shapes. The children then coloured the shapes and counted how many of each 2D shape they need to make their masterpiece. Well done Year 1!

It's been an exciting day in school today as we took part in a film for the Department for Education on school attendance. It shows the value of school and shows how it’s more than schoolwork. Being in school can help children build resilience, learn social skills, boost their confidence, and teach them that they can do hard things. In short, this is about the social and emotional benefits of school, which we put at the heart of at Broadbent Fold. Thank you for all staff and parents for taking part.
