Theme Park Extravaganza

Year 6 have been gifted a million pounds each to create a theme park. Wow! Their imagination is oozing and their ideas are amazing. I look forward to how these theme parks evolve.

This half term, our topic in Year 4 is 'Where would you time travel to?' where we will be learning all about Ancient Egypt.

Year 6 Summer 2 MTP

Dear Parents, Carers,Well, what a whirlwind of a year we have had, and our final term at Broadbent Fold does not fail to be the same.  Teaching your child twice has been an absolute pleasure; they have been amazing! Who were the Ancient Greeks?

It is our final half term together and what a fantastic topic we have: 'Who were the Ancient Greeks?' We will delve into what life was like over 2,500 years ago in Greece and explore the legacies which the Ancient Greeks left behind. We will research Mediterranean salads with a taste testing session to help us design a delicious Greek salad. We will explore ancient myths based on the Greek Gods and Goddesses to influence our creative writing. We will also have time to share our creative homework tasks. What a fun-filled last half term.


Tremendous Toys

This half term, our topic is ‘Tremendous Toys: Have You Got This Toy at Home?’. Throughout the topic, pupils will explore how toys have evolved over time, comparing the toys enjoyed by their grandparents with the toys children play with today. They will have the opportunity to handle and investigate a range of traditional toys, helping them to understand how materials, design and technology have changed over the years. Using their Design and Technology (D&T) skills, pupils will also design and make their own moving toy.


Summer 2 - MTP and homework documents

Welcome back to Summer 2! This half term, Year 5 will be exploring our exciting geography topic, “What makes South America a continent of contrasts?”. The children will develop their understanding of South America by learning about its physical and human geography, including the differences between rich and poor areas, climate, landscapes and life in Brazil.
