Gold Winners..again!

We have achieved GOLD for our School Games Mark Award for the 2024/25 academic year. The School Games Mark is a Government-led award scheme launched in 2012, facilitated by the Youth Sport Trust to reward schools for their commitment to the development of competition across their school and into the community, and we are delighted to have been recognised for our success.

Reception MTP and Home Learning

Welcome back everyone!  Hope you all had an amazing break.

This half term we will be leaning all about the seaside and under the sea.  The medium term plan is attached below.  I have also attached a home learning grid for anyone wanting to do any additional (completely optional) home learning.

PE days this half term are Wednesday (no kit needed) and Friday (kit needed).

We are starting mini bikers on Friday, please ensure rain coats are in school if it is a rainy day as we will be going out whatever the weather.

Reading Ambassadors Display

Tameside Libraries set our Reading Ambassadors a task to create a genre display of books to persuade children to read a certain text type. They chose a fantasy theme which is books about magic, legendary creatures and faraway lands. The children put the display together themselves in the KS2 library and I think this will definitely encourage children to read these books.

Well done Ambassadors!

Reception MTP and Home Learning

Maths in Art!

Most classes took part in an Art activity during the recent World Maths Day!  It was a great opportunity to investigate different shapes and the children were inspired by artists such as Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky and Piet Mondrian.  Year 4 focussed on M.C. Escher and his infamous tessellations whilst Year 6 included some 3D art into the equation!  Fantastic artwork by everyone!  Mrs Blomeley.

Visit from GB sprinter Andy Robertson

We were lucky enough to have a visit from GB sprinter Andy Robertson who recently won the bronze medal at the European indoor athletics championships. He told us all about his life as an athlete and how he started athletics when he was 8 years old! He answered lots of our questions and even brought his medal in to show us!

Brunch with Mrs Parker

One child from each class was chosen to have brunch with myself this morning for being green on our behaviour chart all term. They are wonderful role models and I am very proud of them everyday! Well done - the chocolate brownies were my favourite.

Easter time

Children throughout school are learning about Easter traditions including why Easter is so special to Christians.

Ask children can they explain the difference between Good Friday and Easter Sunday?

How do you celebrate Easter?
