Team Activities

What fabulous team work skills Year 5 have. This afternoon we've been working together completing parachute games and putting our trust in each other when blindfolded. We had lots of fun and worked co-operatively.

Our assembly with Gary from Holy Trinity Church

In our class bubbles we welcomed Gary from Holy Trinity Church. He enthusiastically spoke about how Bible stories link to being together and how important our family and friends are. We can all be good friends. This assembly gave us time to reflect on what we are grateful for.

We look forward to welcoming Gary into our school for future assemblies.

Eco School

The Eco warriors have been working really hard this year on the three topics for the Eco schools award.  The topics are Saving Energy, Reducing Waste and Improving the School Grounds.  Due to their hard work we have recieved Eco Schools Bronze and Silver awards!  The certificates are attached below.

We have been extremely busy planting hundreds of trees, sowing wildflower seeds and seed bombs, learning how to save energy, putting up posters about saving energy, litter picking and using the new recycling and compost bins around the school.

Year 5 Summer 2

Dear Parents, Carers

Well what an exciting last half term we have in Year 5. We are continuing our Arts Award and have the opportunity for a well being nature walk to Gorse Hall on Thursday 24th June. Furthermore, we are starting our Anglo Saxons topic and have a living history day organised too on Monday 28th June. Keep an eye out for the letters. We also have a designated sports week and are looking forward to finding out more about The Euros and The Olympics as the term progresses. It's going to be a fully fun packed half term and a brilliant way to finish off year 5.

Y5 Outdoor Learning Day

What an amazing morning Year 5 had creating a shelter for the whole class and using natural materials to make a sculpture like Andy Goldsworthy does. Have a look at how they worked together and what they created.
