Year 5's Headteacher Certificates this week were awarded for brilliant Science work at Rayner Stephens together with a whole class certificate for fantastic learning and behaviour during their visit to Tatton Park!  Our first Gold certificate was awarded for achieving 175 star points, plus Silver awards for those children who have achieved 100 points!  Good to be Green awards were handed to this week's winners who have been Ready, Respectful and Safe !  Well done to everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Visit from Ash Randall

Everyone at Broadbent Fold loved their visit from freestyle footballer Ash Randall today. He holds 25 records in the Guinness book of Records and spoke to everyone about the importance of not giving up as he has been practising for 17 years. Ash Randall taught some of our pupils and even Miss Lewis and Miss Mainprize some new tricks. Thank you for your visit Ash!

The Hive North

Broadbent Fold had the enormous pleasure to have a visit from The Hive North this afternoon. They were here to perform a play about how families are all different. The children had an amazing time being trainee zoo keepers and completely interacting with the performance. Thank you so much for  a fabulous afternoon.

The Great Big School Clean

The Great Big School Clean campaign runs from 17th March to the 2nd April 2023. I have pledged that as a school we can collect 12 bags of rubbish.  Hopefully we can collect more!

Well done to all of the children who have already started litter picking on their way to school and around the school grounds.  You are doing a fantastic job to help the environment!

#letgirlsplay

The snow didn't stop our girls taking part in #letgirlsplay last week. It was lovely to see so many girls in KS1 and KS2 taking part in our girls football tournaments. A big thank you to our Year 6 Game Changers in making the #letgirlsplay events successful and encouraging lots of other girls to play football.

Year 5 - Anglo Saxon History at Tatton Park!

Year 5 had a brilliant visit to Tatton Park today to go back in time to find out what lwas like for the Anglo Saxons!  They were confronted by the scary, Viking character of "Harold Bloodaxe" who had arrived in the Anglo Saxon settlement to claim his Danegelds (taxes).  Whilst there, the children helped to thresh the wheat, grind the flour and mix the dough, ready for baking bread.

Gold Food4Life

I am pleased to be able to announce that we have achieved our 'Gold' Food4Life Schools award.

I appreciate the time and effort you as parents and pupils and staff have put into ensuring compliance with the School Food Standards as well as creating a positive healthy lifestyle atmosphere. Huge congratulations on achieving the ‘GOLD’ level of the award!

International Womens Day

We are very proud that Evie was featured in the international womens day poster for basketball in Tameside. What a great photo! Thank you for sharing this with us!

Year 5's Haka Dance routine!

Year 5 have started to learn the Haka dance in their PE sessions with Miss Harrop, our Sports Coach.    After only two weeks they know all the moves they have learnt so far and are looking very impressive!  The Haka is a ceremonial Māori war dance or challenge which is usually performed in a group and represents a display of a tribe's pride, strength and unity.  Our aim is to create a suitable war dance to link to our Anglo Saxon topic.  Mrs Blomeley
