Art in Key Stage 2!

Our Art Gallery in Key Stage 2 looks amazing with artwork from this half term!  Year 3 learnt about George Bridgetower - a famous violinist from Poland - and their sketches are brilliant!  Year 4, inspired by their Roman topic, created people in motion and produced some great Roman Soldiers!  Year 5 have been learning about the lives of poor Victorian children who had to work for a living.  They used the medium of charcoal to create their images of grubby chimney sweeps.  Year 6 have produced some fantastic work, inspired by street artists Keith Haring and Banksy.  We are very proud of our

Jodrell Bank

Year 2 had the pleasure of visiting Jodrell Bank as part of our topic work and national space week celebrations. The children demonstarted excellent knowledge of space and the visit allowed their leasrnig to come to life.   The children learned about the importance of the sun and the moon. They explored the site and observed many experiments, this created awe and wonder for our little scientists. Did you know - If you stand on our playground, you can see Jodrell Bank from our school!

National Poetry Day

Tooday we have celebrating National Poetry day listening and joining in on Michael Rosen’s ‘no breathing in class’ poem. The children found this poem really funny!

Mastering number

This week, we have started our Mastering Number sessions. The children will be introduced to the rekenrek. This is one of the key representations used in the programme; the children will use it regularly to develop their understanding of numbers within 20 and the relationships between them. Like the other representations used, the rekenreks will also develop the children’s fluency.

Hanging our new bird feeders

Thank you to the Eco Leaders and their helpers for hanging the new bird feeders in our school grounds. We can't wait to see which feathery friends come for a tasty treat!
