Career Celebration Event

Yesterday I attended a special celebration event championed by Mayor Andy Burnham. It was to celebrate all our hard work with careers and ensuring it is integral to our curriculum. A special video was displayed and I shall share this as soon as I receive it - lots of our pupils are referred to in this. I was so proud.

Year 5 - Arguing again!

Year 5 wanted to demonstrate their ability to discuss balanced arguments today!   Vinny had given the whole class a "Mindfulness" Chilean flag to colour, as part of his South American project presentation   The question was, should they take it home? Or should they stick it in their Geography books?  The group with the better arguments won!  They used their "for and against" skills to convince the class to put them into their books!  Well done everyone for taking part!  Mrs Blomeley

Plant investigations

Year 3 enjoyed planting seeds today to investigate the requirements of plants to grow. We will observe our plants over the next couple of weeks to test if our predictions were correct.

Rounders competition

Our Year 5 and 6 rounders team had lots of fun at their competition the other week. They scored lots of rounders and really developed their fielding skills throughout the competition. Well done everyone!

Negative Number Games in Year 5!

Year 5 turned their usual Friday practical Maths games session into negative number games today to link to their current topic!  Some played "Negative Nifty Fifty" while others turned "Snakes and Ladders" baclwards and upside down, by starting at the ends and going up the snakes and down the ladders!  Very clever and an innovative way to learn this tricky concept.  Mrs Blomeley

Awards in Year 5 w/e 4th July!

A whole school Headteacher's Merit was awarded to the whole of Year 5 today for their fantastic efforts towards the Summer Fair!  They all worked incredibly hand and we are so proud of them.  Good to be Green awards were given for following our school rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe!  Well done to everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Year 5's Scientific Performance in Theatre !

Oh what fun Year 5 had when "Performance in Theatre" entertained AND educated them with their fantastic performance of Abbie Ayre and the Shed of Science - Air quality and active travel!  The class were able to use the knowledge that they'd explored in their Climate Change topic from earlier in the year.  They were amazing!  Well done everyone and thank you to "Performance in Theatre" - we loved it!  Mrs Blomeley

Ancient Greece Projects

I am so impressed with the effort that has been put into the creative homework set this half term. The clas proudly shared their work today using their oracy skills to tell us facts and explain how they completed their work. We had temples, fact sheets, coins, vases and much more. Thank you to everybody who joined in.
