World War Two Experience Day

Year 3 have had a wonderful morning. They all look marvellous! They have completed a carousel of activities including: making ID labels, creating WW2 art pieces, packing an evacuee's suitcase, making propaganda posters, creating a VE party menu, designing a gas mask, making a ration book and baking a poor man's cake.

Year 6 Superstars

Great job Year 6. Revision time is over and we're so ready for the tests next week. Thank you for all your hard work and effort.

VE Day

VE Day celebration in Year 2 included discussion about importance of this day and designing commemorative coin.

Self portraits

As part of our Art Week today we started by doing self portraits using mirrors to carefully look at the features of our faces. Can you tell who these are?

Anglo-Saxon Baking in Year 5!

As part of their Anglo-Saxon activities, all of the Year 5 children spent time with Mrs Hallam this morning to bake Honey, Oat and Spices cakes, a recipe form the Anglo-Saxon days.  Later on, the class ate their cakes, whilst listening to riddles and stories, just like they would have done in a mead-hall back in the era.  Mrs Hallam praised all of the children for their culinary skills and their impeccable behaviour during their baking time.  Well done to everyone - we are very proud of you!  Mrs Blomeley and Mrs Hallam.

Kate Stonehewer Cup Runners Up!

KATE STONEHEWER CUP RUNNERS UP!

A huge congratulations to our Year 5 and 6 girls' football team who were runners up in the Kate Stonehewer Cup! The girls had a very tough final against Arundale Primary School which finished 2-1 to Arundale. The girls showed great teamwork and really pulled together, playing with confidence and determination throughout! We are so proud of them for their efforts!

It has been fantastic to see so many girls playing football and inspiring others to want to take part next year. Well done girls!!

More Marathon Sessions in Year 5!

Year 5 braved the heat this week to continue with their mission to complete 30 minutes of running for the TCS Mini Marathon!  Such enthusiasm from everyone, although it did get tough towards the end!  Great effort Year 5!  Mrs Blomeley
