Happy New Year, Year 1! We are very excited to welcome everyone back to school on Tuesday 6th January 2026.
Hello Nursery,
Happy New Year! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas with your families.
This half term we will be learning about Arctic Animals/Winter. Please find attached the Medium Term Plan and Home Learning Grid.
Mrs Tennant
This half term we will explore why natural disaster occur including earthquakes and volcanoes. We will create non chronological reports and adventure narratives about different natural disasters using AI to generate images to help inspire us. In maths we will continue to focus on multiplication and division. All children should know their 2, 5, 10, 3, 4 and 8 x table facts with related division facts so keep practising on mathletics and using our songs. I am looking forward to seeing the creative projects which are completed- see Seesaw for more details.
I do hope you've had a fabulous Christmas holiday, and the children are eager to get back to school. The children have been working ever so hard last term, and I hope they're buzzing to get started on our Viking topic. This term, we will be fine-tuning the children's grammatical terminology to support them in their writing at the Year 6 standard. In history, they will be delving back in time to the Vikings and taking a closer look at Ivor the Boneless and Edward the Confessor.
Here is the home learning menu for this half term linked to our topic 'What was life like for Victorian children?'.
Please complete your home learning in your homework book or upload to Seesaw. Star points will be awarded for all pieces of homework completed.
Times tables homework will be sent out every Friday also.
I cannot wait to see all the exciting things you do!
This half term, our topic in Year 4 is 'What was life like for Victorian children?' where we will be learning all about what it was like to live in the Victorian period, especially for children.
Please see the attached topic web for more information about what your child will be learning this half term.
