Y6 Spring 1 MTP

Dear Parents, Carers I do hope you've had a fabulous Christmas holiday, and the children are eager to get back to school, especially after their snow day. The children have been working ever so hard last term and I hope they're buzzing to get started on our Viking topic. This term we will be finely tuning the children's grammatical terminology understanding to support them in their writing at Year 6 standard. In history, they will be delving back in time to the Vikings and taking a closer look at Ivor the Boneless and Edward the Confessor.

Home Learning Spring 1

Here is the home learning menu for this half term linked to our topic 'What was life like for the Tudors?'.

Please complete your home learning in your homework book or upload to Seesaw. Star points will be earnt for all pieces of homework completed.

Times tables homework will be sent out every Friday also.

I cannot wait to see all the exciting things you do!

What was life like for the Tudors?

This half term, our topic in Year 4 is 'What was life like for the Tudors?' where we will be learning all about Henry VIII and his wives, making a Tudor soup and creating animations about the Spanish Armada.

Please see the attached topic web for more information about what your child will be learning this half term.

Spring 1

Where will our adventures take us?

This is the question that will inspire children's learning and will be based on Pirates. Children are looking forward to a pirate themed activity day.

P.E dance and fundamental movements will be taught this half term. Dance will be based on pirates. Our English will be based on pirates and children will improve their story writing and poetry.

Mathletics activities and Seesaw activities really do support children's learning.

Attached is the Medium Term Plan and our Home Learning Grid.

Stone Age experience

Year 3 had such a fun trip out today. We learned so much more about the Stone Age to Iron Age. We made fires, went gathering, did some farming using Stone Age tools, polished a hammerhead, made flour, practised making a wattle and daub wall and so much more.

Can you spot our cheeky helper Barry the elf?
