Year 3 have had a wonderful time at their Crumble Coding workshop today. We have looked at the components of the crumble kit. They have used their electricity skills to set the kit up correctly. They have then used coding to make their buggies move in various ways.

Well done to all of our superstars this week.

I am very proud that we won the Sport's Trophy this week too.

Year 5 learnt about the history of the Haka dance, which originiated from Maori culture.  Traditionally, the Haka was performed to display tribal strength, unity and pride, and is often used as a welcoming ritual or to intimidate the opposing team in sport.  The children enjoyed learning the moves, and especially making the faces!  In future sessions, the class will invent their own versions of the Haka dance, when they pretend they are tribes from the Rainforest!   Mrs Blomeley

Year 5 got off to a great start in their first session of Cricket!  They improved their throwing and catching skills before taking part in a game of Diamond Cricket to test their batting skills. They are beginning to demonstrate great teamwork in this sport!.  Mrs Blomeley

Awards this week were given for fantastic progress in Maths and for consistent hard work and exceptional manners!  Good to be Green awards were given for following our school rules of being Ready, Respectful and Safe!  Bronze certificates and badges were awarded to those who have work hard to achieve 100 star points!  Well done everyone!  Mrs Blomeley

Congratulations Year 6!

This half term, our topic in Year 4 is 'Can you explain the unexplained?' where we will be learning all about unsolved mysteries such as Scottish myths and Bermuda Triangle tales, creating our own working lighthouses and taking part in a Crumble Coding workshop.

Today, we were lucky enough to have a visit from freestyle footballer Ash Randall. He showed us lots of his amazing skills and we couldn't wait to have a go at break and lunch time ourselves. We were impressed to find out that Ash has 25 world records for his freestyle football skills and also has an award for having over 100,000 subscribers on YouTube. He said the main things for becoming a great freestyle footballer are determination, perseverance, passion and honesty - some of our sporting values!

Ash Randell came to school today to show us some of his freestyle football tricks. What a fabulous visit!
