Welcome to our Year 5 - Mrs Gao class teacher and Mrs Hallam Teaching Support.
I am really excited for this year with our Year 5s!
Our topic for Autumn 1 is "What was life like for Victorian Children?". This is a fantastic topic where we will learn about what life was like for children who went to school and for children who went to work during the Victorian Era. We'll learn about Queen Victoria and about the great inventions of this time. We'll also go on a school trip to experience what it was like to be a Victorian.
Here is some information you may find useful:
Homework: A home learning grid will be sent home at the start of every term linked to the topic in school, which will be found in their homework books. These activities are to be completed at your own leisure. They will also be set a weekly task and bi-weekly spellings to practise. Please ensure your child has their homework book in school every Thursday as new work will be set and any feedback will be given.
Reading: Please read a few times a week and record it into the reading diary.
If you wish to contact us, you can message me through our class Seesaw, request a telephone / face to face consultation via the main office or email me via admin@broadbentfold.tameside.sch.uk or 0161-303-9411.
Please keep an eye out for the Year 5 Class blog to keep up to date with what we have been up to in school!
