Y6 Star of the week 16-7-21

Congratulations to our Y6 Stars of the week Maisie and Sam.

Maisie was an outstanding villain in our performance. She was also an equally good rocker- you are a star Maisie!

Sam took on the stressful job of organising the music in our performance- we really couldn't have done it without you.

Nathan was awarded a Headteacher Award for his confidence during the play and for stepping up to take on another role at the last minute!

A HUGE WELL DONE TO ALL YEAR 6 FOR THE PERFORMANCE!! We are all so proud of you!

It is lovely to see how much the children's handwritng and presentation skills are developing from the start of the year. All of these children have impressed their teachers

FREE Maths Books from Morrisons for all children!

White Rose Maths has teamed up with leading supermarket, Morrisons, to give primary pupils a series of exciting and FREE workbooks to use at home. These colourful and engaging workbooks are perfect for revisiting and practising work that children have covered earlier in the year, or to prepare them for the new school year ahead.

Keeping Fit in the Playground !

Our Key Stage 2 Pupil Leaders enjoyed demonstrating the new playground equipment today!  The newly installed apparatus was chosen by last year’s Pupil Leadership Team and is proving extremely popular!  The children think it’s a great way to keep fit whilst having a chat with your friends!

Olympic Torch

The Olympic Torch arrived last week as we took part in Tameside's baton relay. Our Sports Ambassadors ran through school with the London 2012 torch and they were joined by a special mascot!

It was a fabulous end to our Sports Week.

Olympic Torch

We finished our Sports Week in style.

On Friday afternoon, we had a visit from Max the Monkey with the Olympic torch!

Max was joined by two of our Sports Ambassadors, Lily and Reuben, and together they showed off the torch to all the children.

Mrs Parker, Lily and Reuben then passed the torch over to children from Reyner Stephens.

Hug a Tree Game

Y6 enjoyed playing the blindfold Hug a Tree game and working cooperatively to turn over the tarp without standing on the grass!

Y6 Star of the week 25-6-21

Well done to Nathan and Adam who have received a Merit certificate today. Both boys have shown their passion and skill during our Sports Week.

Nathan was a force to be reckoned with in the Euros Tournament- in the goals one minute and then tackling in the middle of the pitch. Well done.

Adam has excelled all week. His dedication to improve his own score during the athletics tournament was great to see. He was remarkable in both benchball and football too.

Fantastic Footballers

Our girls made me very proud on Thursday when we went off to Curzon Ashton to play in friendly matches against 3 other schools. We won 2 out of our 3 games, scoring a massive 7 goals! I was very proud of them all as their behaviour and team work skills were second to none! Well done girls!
