Coronation Celebrations in Year 4

What a fantastic day we've had celebrating a once in a lifetime celebration. The children have made tea party place mats, completed a table seating plan for a street party, had their face painted, completed word searches and enjoyed a proper tea party in class. Lots of fun has been had by everyone. What a fabulbous day!

River Investigation

Year 4 used a lot of reasoning to find out what the pictures of a river showed. They were fantastic at justifying the difference between a floodplain and a delta and examining the pictures that showed channels, waterfalls, tributaries and levees. A great geography lesson.

Daily Mile

Fantastic work Year 4 for continuing your Daily Mile activities. I'm very proud of the effort you are putting in to gaining your marathon by the end of May. Keep up all the exercise, whether it be walking or running.

Mini Marathon

Year 4 have been completing the mini marathon since last Monday. They are getting fitter and enjoying running on the yard for 10 minutes. They've been inspired by the London marathon this weekend and really tried to complete more laps in the time allocated and they are really looking forward to the Daily Mile Challenge on Thursday.

Scientific Observations

Year 4 got the opportunity to observe their eggs after they'd been left in different liquids for 5 days. To some children's disgust, the eggs are starting to smell and rot in the liquids. The children were finding out that they needed to make very close observations of the eggs so that they could identify what actually was going on and were pleased that their predictions were coming true. We look forward to looking at the eggs throughout the week to see if anything else changes.

Litter picking at Gorse Hall

The Eco Leaders did a fantastic job when they went litter picking at Gorse Hall.  With the help of Mr Pickles from the Friends of Gorse Hall and Mr Moon from Tameside Rotary and we collected 4 big bags full of litter.  All of the children worked really hard even in the pouring rain.  Well done everyone for helping to improve our local environment which will help our wildlife to grow and thrive.
