In Maths Year 2 children have been learning about shapes and symmetry and in Geography about London's most famous landmark. Today the children practised their art skills while drawing the missing half of the London's landmark ensuring it was symmetrica. They really did a super job!
Congratulations to our handwriting award winners this half term. I am impressed with your motor skills, letter orientation, joined writing and presentation.

Reading and spelling as part of our phonic lesson.
Children worked with partners to quiz each other on tricky words and read questions and statements using their phonic knowledge.

As part of history children worked cooperatively in groups to sequence the story of the fire of London.
Oracy skills including turn taking and speaking about which part of the story came first.
Fabulous knowledge of a historical event was shown by children.
On Friday, we were awarded the Equal Access Award by the FA for ensuring our school has the same opportunities for boys and girls in football. Well done to Greenside and Manchester Road who also picked up the same award.
A massive well done to our stars of the week. Headteacher's certificates were awarded for effort in writing instruction and for History work.
