To end our "Food Glorious Food" topic, we went to visit Tesco in Stalybridge. We took part in their Field to Fork project and found out where lots of different foods come from. We also got to taste bread, cheese, olives, strawberries, apples and blueberries. We had a fantastic morning and would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to Sharon and Hayley who showed us around.

This week we are learning about Healthy and Unhealthy food. We are focusing on the story of Oliver's Vegetables. The children have been learning about days of the week and we have been ordering the story. Well done year 1

This week we have been learning all about food from around the world. We made yummy pizzas which we then ate. They were delicious. All the children had a great time choosing thier toppings and talking about Italian food.
Our new topic for this half term is "Food Glorious Food". We will learning about foods from around the world, where food comes from, how food has changed over the years and we will be making lots of different foods and tasting lots of yummy foods too. Its going to be an exciting and delicious half term.

Year 1 have been to Holy Trinity church today. We watched a play all about the Christmas story. We really enjoyed it especially all the puppets and finding carrots for the camels. a Big Thank You to everybody at the church for inviting us.

Year 1 have been learning about Hinduism. We've had a Diwali day where we have made Diva Lamps, Rangoli patterns and paper lanterns.
Year 1 had an amazing time during Woodlands Week. We made dens, went on a Boggart hunt, created large natural art work and visited Lyme Park.
