National Storytelling Week

Year 3 enjoyed a live Zoom session with Alim Kamala. The theme of this year is 'Soundtrack your story' and Alim showed us how he raps to tell a story. We found out that rap stands for rhythm and poetry. We then had a go at writing our own raps about having a superpower. The workshop was so much fun and we loved rapping along with Alim.

Storytelling

Year 2 listened to some BBC stories as part of Story telling week.

Mrs Slate & Miss Laitl have read stories and read non- fiction books from our class book corner.

Debates - Balanced argument

Today, Year 5 role-played a debate on a panel of for and against over some questions we came up with in class. Some of the questions the children debated about include; Should school meals be free? Should a school day be 4 hours instead of 6 hours? Should less subjects be taught in school? Should children be allowed junk food as a break-time snack? They came up with great reasons for and against.

Homework Projects

Look at the amazing longships the children created as part of their home learning. Great work Year 6!

Our MUWFC Mascot!

Matilda was a lucky girl to be chosen to be a mascot at the United vs Liverpool match yesterday. She was also interviewed on TV. What an experience.

Panathlon Multi-Sports competition

Some of our KS2 pupils took part in a Panathlon multi-sports competition on Thursday where they came 1st place and will represent Tameside in the Greater Manchester championships! They completed lots of different activities such as bowling, basketball and parachute activities. Well done everyone, we are so proud of you all!
