Book Look

Thank you to the families who joined us for our book look. We are very proud of the hard work our pupils are doing everyday - we are pleased you are too. There will be another opportunity soon.

Positive Praise from Parents

Last night, Year 4 parents came to look at their children's books. Have a read of the lovely reponses they left for their children. What a fantastic positive evening. Thank you everyone for coming.

Amazing Newspapers

Have a read of our wonderful newspaper reports about the missing lighthouse men from the Flannan Isles. The children worked really hard to ensure the features were covered and the facts explained. Well done Year 4.

Wood cookie creations

Today in forest school we have been playing one of the groups favourite games - 1,2,3 Where are you? Then we made spinners and necklaces from wood cookies.

Circulatory System

In our science learning this week year 6 have been learning about the circulatory system. We started by role playing how the circulatory system works by pumping oxygenated blood to the body to every living cell through the arteries. The blood carries nutrients, oxygen and water. Once the oxygen has been distributed this now deoxygenated blood is pumped back to the heart through the veins. The heart then pumps this blood back to the lungs to receive more oxygen. This process is repeated again and again. The children were very good at acting this out.

Litter Picking in our Community

A huge well done and thank you to Chloe for doing litter picking in our community in her own time. What a superstar you are! Keep making us proud Chloe and helping to keep our environment safe and healthy.

Super Science

Today in our Science lesson we learnt about soil layers. We looked each layer and what it is made of. We put materials inside plastic cups to show the soil profile and we labelled each layer. We also discussed different factors that influence how soil is made such as climate, parent material and landscape.

LGBT and History Month - February 2023

Do you know who this brave woman is from our history? February is LGBT History Month and we’re focussing on the lives and work of some courageous LGBT women. If you find out any details let Mrs Parker know for house points - we shall do some research together in assembly.

The Explorer: Pineapples and Hot Seating!

As part of their Rainforest Topic, and to enhance their reading of the class text,  "The Explorer", Year 5 enjoyed tasting a delicious pineapple on Friday!  In the book, the characters have just discovered  the fruits, after eating grubs to survive!  Some interesting Hot Seating followed, as the children took on the personalities of some of the main characters!  Impressive acting and sensible questions from the class took place!  Mrs Blomeley
