Congratulations to our superstars! This week, the children were awarded Headteachers certificates for their art and maths work. Some children received their Bronze Awards and Good to be Green pencils. Great work Year 2! Keep it up. 

A great first week back with lots of awards. Well done Year 6. 

During their Spy topic, Year 5 worked extremely hard to perfect their Spy Narratives, which they wrote with Year 3 as their audience.  They created spies, villains and suitable settings for their adventures to take place!  Children from Year 3 enjoyed the story telling and they had the opportunity afterwards to identify the characters from the drawings that Year 5 had drawn!  Thank you everyone for being such brilliant writers and listeners!  Mrs Blomeley                             

This morning, year 1 arrived at school to find footprints, fossils and eggs in the classroom! The children quickly became Archaeologists and used their skills in pairs to carefully crack open the eggs. The children found different dinosaurs in them! When the children learned that the footprints must have come from a dinosaur, they became Palaeontologists and used different tools delicately to find fossils and dinosaurs. The children could identify and name some of the dinosaurs / fossils.

In my assembly today I introduced the word and skill of the half term - Responsibility. We are ensuring our pupils are building these skills for their future in life and employment. We discussed taking ownership and control of our behaviour. I will be picking one child from each class who has shown this over January and February.

Happy New Year!  I hope you all had an amazing Christmas and New Year!

Here are the links for our learning this half term.  We will be learning all about Magic and Winter.  There is also a link for anone wanting to do some additional home learning (this is entirely optional).

This half term our topic is 'What makes Earth angry?' We will explore how natural disasters like volcanoes, earthquakes and tornadoes occur. As part of our creative homework task children may make a volcano model and bring this into school by Friday 7th February. Can you make your volcano erupt?

Our new topic for this half term is called 'What happened to the dinosaurs?' This is a history based topic where we learn about Mary Anning, do an archaeological dig and find out about lots of different dinosaurs.
