Super Hero day!

It's been a FLYING start to Year 1! Today we celebrated all the hard work we have been doing this half term around our theme 'Where will your powers take you? The children all dressed up as their favourite Superhero and took part in some fun activities! The children have been busy drawing, colouring, cutting and sticking to create a scenery for their live art work.

This week's award winners are...

Well done to this weeks Head-Teacher, Good to be Green and Vocabulary Ninja award winners. You have all worked super hard this week! Well done to T, Z and O who have been busy working hard at their after-school club and achieving special awards. Well done everyone!

Year 2 Award winners this week

Congratulations to the Year 2 children who received Headteachers Award for effort in writing and excellent manners. Big well done to the children who received Good to be Green pencil. We also had a Vocabulary Ninja champion this week.

Vocab Ninja Winners

Well done to our first Vocab Ninja winners of the year. These children always contribute in their Word of the day lessons and try hard to use good vocabulary in their writing.

Superstars

Well done to all of our winners today for achieving headteacher awards, good to be green pencils and for your sporting achievements.

Light experiments

We have continued exploring light this week. We looked at how light reflects off certain objects and we sorted materials into which would be the most effective to reflect light on a book bag. We also looked at how light travels through materials which are transparent, translucent and opaque.

BBF vs St Mary’s

Our Year 5 and 6 boys football team got rather muddy tonight in their football match against St Mary's Catholic Primary School in the first round of the Alan Millea cup, which they won 3-1! They showed great skill and didn't let the mud bother them. Fantastic work boys!
